Consider adoption first

Madam – I think it is a fair point to say that we should consider adoption before buying a dog from a breeder or someone whose pets have recently had a litter.

The Newcastle SPCA is a commendable association and so often the work that they do is done behind the scenes so no-one really knows how much of their heart and soul they put into saving the lives of our four legged friends.

I adopted my dog from the SPCA many years ago, and she gave me more than 10 years of unconditional love. I shudder to think what might have happened to her had there been no-one like the SPCA around at that time when she was abandoned or abused.

My little angel has sadly passed away now, but the memories she gave our family can never be replaced.

I am so happy Spike has found himself a home with people that will love him and care for him the way he so deserves! I commend the Advertiser for bringing heart warming stories like this to the attention of the public, so we can see for ourselves that there are souls out there committed to making a true difference in the community.
