Madam – Caring for animals, especially dogs, is something we’re passionate about.

So much so that we have 15 dogs, some of which wandered onto our farm searching for a better life. One of them was a staffie we called Teddy, and came with terrible battle scars. Teddy passed away a few months ago and his memory lives on.

So when driving along Kwaggasnek Road next to Amajuba Mountain I spotted what looked like a brindle staffie in a ditch. Slamming on the brakes with a love for Teddy still burning in my heart, I looked down in horror at a large female staffie – dead.

Without any actual evidence I can only speculate that she may have been the victim of an organised dog fight. Rest in peace big girl.
