Atrocious roads in Acaciavale

The new road from Ezakheni into Protea Drive has caused endless problems for residents in the area

Editor – The roads in Acaciavale have really gone from bad to worse, so to speak.

I travel on these roads on a daily basis, from home to work and back, at peak times when the roads are busy with cars and trucks. The new road from Ezakheni into Protea Drive has caused endless problems for us residents in the area.

Fair enough, it helps with people travelling to the Pieters industrial area from town, but it doesn’t help us, as there are literally 1000s of vehicles travelling into our residential area.

To make things worse, there are heavy-duty trucks that use these roads and now that it is very hot, the tar on the road melts and is slowly destroyed over time.

I see that roadworks have been carried out in other areas that have much less traffic than the Acaciavale area.

So the question beg to be asked: When will the municipality start fixing our roads as well?

I have asked many people in the area if the new road has helped them, and many of them say it hasn’t helped them at all.

So please help us fix the poor-quality roads in our area.
