What was the first movie that made you cry?
Have you ever cried at the movies?

Watching the video below posted on nofilmschool.com, I thought I would be taken back to some deep and dark childhood movie, and then I realised the only movie that had made me cry was a rom-com!
I was not sitting in a theatre, I was with my family and we were watching a DVD of a family comedy called ‘Marley And Me’. It was not a major blockbuster and had very little artistic merit. It starred Owen Wilson and he was a big Hollywood name at the time. I think that is the only reason why we rented the movie.
There is a point in the movie when you realise what is coming – I will not spoil it for anyone else, but I literally sobbed. Yes, a grown man sobbing in front of his wife and children. Thank goodness they were all “chunking” as well, it lessened the blow to my manliness a bit.
It was my first real full-blown bawl. Hachikō, a dog’s story, starring Richard Gere, got a tear in the corner of my eye, but ironically it was that stupid rom-com that nailed me.
So let us know in the comments below this story what movie first got you crying?
Now I do not mean a snivel, but full-blown tears streaming down your cheeks!
