Councillor was a man of the community

To him belonging to a political party was of secondary importance – he was here to serve

Ugan Chetty was a man of and for the community. Following a path of truth and honesty, he identified with the concerns of his ward.

To him belonging to a political party was of secondary importance – he was here to serve.

So whatever party he may join, it will be the needs of the people that matter.

He would have realised no matter how hard he worked, assisted by his Ward Committee, very little, if anything, was done by the powers that be.

Yet on a higher level, working with state officials, he achieved much e.g. the title deeds for residents of Forderville and Colita, replacement of asbestos roofing, etc. Ugan, thank you for the services you provided and being one that was upright and fought corruption.

Well done. Continue to serve.
