Sir
The Democratic Alliance reaffirms its commitment to political tolerance, peaceful co-existence with other political parties, as well as free political activity throughout our municipalities and beyond. We pledge to uphold the principles of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa. We also pledge to uphold the principles of democracy and promise to conduct our political activities in a peaceful and friendly manner. We also pray that the Lord will guide us in all our activities to serve the people of South Africa and wherever and whenever called upon to do so. The Democratic Alliance pledges to abide by the aims and objectives of the Electoral Code of Conduct and applicable laws of the country.
The Democratic Alliance urges the leadership and staff of the Independent Electoral Commission to level the playing field for all political parties and voters and execute its mandate and responsibilities without fear, favour and prejudice.
We look forward to a robust and peaceful electioneering period at equal level and successful elections on 3rd August 2016. I take this opportunity to wish all the political parties and candidates goodwill, friendship and success underpinned by Freedom Fairness and Opportunity.
Dr Isri Bedassi
Democratic Alliance
