I read your letter on the issue of racism, as per Raymond Trollip. One thing I must agree with is that racism is a spirit and must be dealt with in the spiritual realm.
No legislation that we introduce will change the hearts of people. Let us take a step back and look at the past and see what we can learn.
The previous regime, in the 1940s introduced a law of segregation, where certain races were seen as superior or better than others.
This is itself racism. Yes, it was sadistic and cruel, and completely against the will of God. Why? God is love! This regime was also seen as a Christian government.
They prohibited abortions, pornography and homosexuality. This, on the other hand, was in the favour of God. But because this regime oppressed people and races and promoted segregation and not unity, God caused and allowed the fall of this government.
When the new government took control they, because of democracy, allowed people to dictate to government what is right and wrong. They introduced, ignorantly or not, evil laws that are right up against the will and word of God.
These were the laws of abortion, pornography and homosexuality. This is the root cause that we do not experience the favour of God in this country. Spiritually, this government is none the better than the last!
That spirit of racism was transmitted from the old dispensation to the new. How? It is in the evil nature of man. That is why it has to be dealt with spiritually. How do we deal with it spiritually?
The same way you deal with any other sin condition or nature of man. If we want to inherit the kingdom of God, if we want the favour of God in our lives, we need to have a spiritual change of heart.
That God calls being ‘born again’. There is only one place in the world where you do not find any racism. Do you know where that is? In the church of Jesus Christ, the hearts of the TRUE born again believers.
Why? The spirit of the believer is love, peace and joy. So, if you want racism out of your life, accept Jesus Christ as your Saviour and be born again. The words that Jesus broke down the wall of separation, all has become one, that is all who are born again.
Gal 5:22-23. How do we deal with this as a country? First of all, the government and the people of the country must realise and see where they have gone wrong. If they then repeal these awful laws, God will see this as a step of repentance.
We cannot allow human rights to be our God and dictate our behaviour. These human rights originated in the thinking and reasoning of man. I can assure you that there are no better human relations than that which is found is God.
It seems that man thinks he knows better than God. God says: “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” 2 Ch 7:14.
What is God saying? He says that if we as a nation, led by government, would humble ourselves, seek His face, confess our sin, turn away from these wicked ways by repealing these awful laws, He will forgive us and heal our land.
Why do you think our country is not prospering Why we have such a high unemployment rate I know you will say it is the economies of the world. I agree. But ultimately, who controls and prospers the world?
Yes, God! Why do you think we experience such droughts? You say it is climate change. Who is in control of the weather? Yes, God. If we give Him a chance He will forgive us, He will prosper us!
We will find work for all. Do yourself a favour and read Deut 28:1-14 and see what God promises if we repent. Then again read Deut 28:15 and onwards and see what will happen if we carry on in this way.
Let us all in this country band and stand together and let government know enough is enough. We must change. Why? For the sake of our children. God bless you.
