OPINON: ANC’s appeal to voters in Glencoe area

.Please put the interests of Glencoe including Sithembile first and not your own interests,

PRESS RELEASE RECEIVED FROM THE LOCAL ANC:
We want to give some words of advice to the voters of Glencoe ward 7 and Sithembile ward 3.

We are very mindful of the fact that there is unhapiness about the choice of our candidates in those areas.

Be that as it may we have went out of our way to explain to the relevant communities that these candidates were chosen out of a pool of four names which were forwarded to the National Executive committee after travelling passed the Region and Province. People who are accredited ANC members from those communities chose those names,

So it seems as if people in the community who are not happy because their preferred candidate did not make it to be on the poster are now discrediting the names of our respective candidates out there, We are humbling ourselves and appealing to them to stop this mischief making.

Not only will it damage the ANC but it could become dangerous. Please put the interests of Glencoe including Sithembile first and not your own interests,

This election has nothing to do with ANY individual who is our candidate. It is about the future of your little town. If you want to see Glencoe and Sithembile grow, if you want your children to enjoy a better future, If you want to see shopping malls in glencoe(that possibility is being explored) then who else besides the ANC can make it possible.

The point which we are making is that it does not matter which candidate the ANC fielded development is a “non negotiable” priority. So make no mistake we as the ANC are putting a vision for development forward, a genuine workable and practical vision and we will not compromise on that vision.

We are very serious about industrialisation of Glencoe and Wasbank and we will come to you the community before the end of opur first year. that is before August next year to outline and present concrete plans for our five year goals.

A lot of preliminary planning has already gone into the proposed developments but we want to warn that if Glencoe and Sithembile wards are lost by the ANC then obviously it will be a major setback for the people oif these communities and Endumeni as a whole.Only the ANC can revive Glencoe from its ”Ghost Town” status. So please vote ANC on all three ballots.

We are making a rather special appeal to the White communities of Dundee, Glencoe and Wasbank not to be afraid of the ANC. We are there for you like we are for everybody else. So many White people come to our offices each day either at the Post Office buildings where we house the ANC office or they come to visit the Mayor or speaker to deal with their individual issues and they will attest to the fact that similiar to everybody else who arrive at our offices, we attempt to assist in whatever way it is possible.
Our campaign haslso been funded by some White owned businerss people and we are humbled by your support and at the same time equally so for the support of all other businesses.
We are encouraged by the support that we are noticing within the Indian and Coloured communities in Dundee, Glencoe and Wasbank. Thank you,God Bless and see you on voting day.
