What a displeasing sight Umtshezi has been since August 3. It is as if the functioning of our municipality has seized to operate.

Just take a look around and you will be met by filth strewn all over the place. Do basic services e.g. clean up and collection of litter not apply to this town? What about the mounds that were dug up from out of the gutters and placed on the pavements?

Also the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) tape around the town hall should be removed by the people responsible. The responsibility now lies in the ward councillor’s hands to make a difference to our town. We voted you in and so now it is time for you to deliver. Time for you all to work hard and the starting place is the centre of town where we get visitors passing through. It is time to clean up and work for the community.

You all campaigned before the elections for our votes; promising us so much, so we are all expecting delivery from you to us for the better of this town. I trust you will all work together and I congratulate you.
