Editor – With a broken heart and a mind not at ease, I would like to highlight a sore factor of what drugs are doing to our children.
On a daily basis, I see people wandering the streets, either on edge and looking for ways /methods to get a “fix” or so highly “goofed” that they can barely walk as they “trip” along the road. It’s an eyesore!
As a concerned parent, I constantly worry: Will my child become a victim of drug abuse? Drug dealers are easily identifiable and are selling freely on the streets, operating as if they are untouchable. Well, to be honest, they have reason to, because our “men in blue” are allowing them to continue their trade!
These uncouth, selfish dealers only think about getting rich overnight by killing our children slowly. I wait patiently for the day their child / family member falls victim to drug abuse. Then let’s see if they will be able to handle the pain. What is happening in bigger cities is happening in our very own town, where females are sleeping with “drug lords” in exchange for a “fix”.
As a concerned parent, I feel sorry for a drug user and personally feel that we, as a community, should not look down upon them. Instead we need to reach out and try to help them before it’s too late.
I appeal to members of the community to stand together and take down “drug lords”.
Enough is enough – you have destroyed many lives, put people behind bars merely to support their habit, taken advantage of women and destroyed families. If the local police are too afraid to stop you, then we will ask national police to come in and rid us of your menace.
