Madam,

Driving anywhere these days is likely to drive any law abiding motorist round the bend, as it seems the majority of Newcastillians have no idea what they are doing behind the steering wheel.

A person can’t accuse traffic officers of being negligent of their duties, because at the end of the day, it is the average motorist that causes the havoc.

People don’t stop at stop signs, red traffic lights have become mere suggestions, no car in town seems to have indicators and let’s not talk about the idiots who suddenly slam on brakes and park in the middle of the road.

Then there are those who idle down the streets, doing about 30km an hour, and you and other motorists are forced to basically stop, because you can’t overtake him in town. One feels your heart rate increases while the moron takes a leisurely drive.

I honestly feel people need to undergo a driver’s test every year to ensure people are kept on their toes. Maybe an IQ test should also be done, where if you score too low, then you get a bus pass.

For all those motorists who drive like hooligans, please show some regard to others as you are not the only ones using the road.

Sincerely,

Awesome Driver
