Madam,
Books are falling into the cracks of society, forgotten by people who are more concerned about television series, movies and video games.
Simply go to the library or to the closest book store and witness how few people search for solace in between the pages of a book.
Instead of losing themselves to the magical powers of a book, people would rather stare numbly at a screen and zone out.
This is scary, as it creates a mindset that is unable to converse on a broad spectrum of topics. Instead, all you get from these ‘zombies’: “Did you watch I am an idiot last night?” or “You should see this one game.”
Imagination is being suffocated because of this. In fact, common sense is being slaughtered because of it.
Not reading means that you don’t learn anything new or learn how to see the world from someone else’s perspective. Instead, you are spoon fed on what to see and believe.
Switch the television sets off and the gaming consoles, pick up a book and explore the world through the pages.
