It has become hectic or rather confusing now, as to the way in which the ceremony of the Amahlubi nation is handled. It is sad to see that the ceremony of the Amahlubi nation (Umgubho Wamahlubi) becomes an African National Congress (ANC) programme.

What were the apparent reasons for ANC members to expose themselves wearing ANC T-shirts and realising government reports during the ceremony. The involvement of the ANC has changed the norm of the ceremony completely to modern ways.

Many who attended the ceremony were not treated with the dignity they deserve. The ANC took over the ceremony as if it were their own, and failed to take the Amahlubi nation into consideration as well as the reason behind why the ceremony is hosted. Some guests left the function hungry. Those who received a meal were served in a disrespectful manner, which was never done before.

The Amahlubi nation should not be a platform for any political party. It has been substantially successful in hosting ceremonies in the past and shall continue to do so solely.

Furthermore, the Amahlubi must ensure that the people are treated equally and that there is no discrimination between the nation.
