Madam – Letter to a parent of a Busy Bee pupil.
Last week Busy Bee School celebrated the Grade 4 – 7’s achievements at a lovely prize-giving ceremony in the school hall. The evening, which included entertainment by the learners, was enjoyed by all – proud parents, proud educators and the learners themselves.
Imagine our disappointment then, when on Friday morning we arrived at school to find that one of the parents had chosen to steal two of the plants out of the flower bed next to the hall.
Who does that?
This is your child’s school for goodness sake!!
You steal something that is not yours and plant it in your garden where it will be a constant reminder to you that you are deceitful, dishonest and a thief! Where’s the joy in that? And even worse, the example you have set for your child is that it’s okay to take something that does not belong to you.
Here we are at school trying to instil good values and morals into our children and they have to contend with parents who advocate the opposite.
Shame on you!
Disappointed Teacher
