Editor – I am very upset and frustrated regarding Centenary Road.
For months now, this road has been in a sad state.
Municipal workers had a grader going up and down the road to fix it, but no more work has been done. It is a nightmare to drive on, as it is dusty and dangerous. It is now basically a gravel road.
Many people living in this area have phoned the municipality regarding when the road will be ready, if ever. Until now, we have gotten no answers.
This is very frustrating, especially when we wash our vehicles and then have to drive on this road to go back home.
The road was dug up and they stopped halfway. For what?
My question is: Why make a mess of a road when you have no intention of fixing the damn thing? Yes, take your own sweet time.
There is a lack of interest and no urgency when it comes to the municipality, really! We are taxpayers and we need answers to our questions, because we work very hard for our money. I really hope this road gets fixed as soon as possible, or else the municipality must tell us why it is taking forever for them to fix this road.
