Address grievances in a civil manner

The recent events in Estcourt have added another nail in the coffin of this once beautiful town. Such activities will only push potential investors away.

Have you forgotten the fact that Masonite was close to closing down?  Who would want to invest in a town where chaos is the order of the day?

Carry on this manner and all we will have here are spaza shops and taverns around every corner – even medical specialists seem reluctant to come here!

From the high of the success of the 24 hour CanSA Relay For Life to this … in a space of a few days! Your behaviour last Thursday and Friday sets no example for the young people to emulate!

Look at what is going on at the schools and universities! Where have you EVER seen people burning public property! Grievances could have been addressed in a much more civil manner.

Forcing municipal staff to abandon their posts and leave the building, and the ensuing chaos the following day was barbaric to say the least.

A number of people were inconvenienced on those days, people who were going about their daily business and needed particular matters addressed.

I sincerely hope that the culprits are positively identified and strong action taken – what were the police doing when the town was being trashed! This town which is a gateway to the Drakensberg deserves far better!
