On October 18, around 5pm there was a group of matric learners sitting on the pavement at 99 Albert Street. Easily identifiable in white school shirts with messages written all over.
With the rubbish left behind, as evidence, which tavern supplied these learners with liquor? Parents of these learners have clearly failed because they have not learnt to respect other people.
Littering and expecting someone to clean up after you is disgusting behaviour. If you think you are creating jobs then you are clearly ignorant.
Just look around you at the filthy town you have created. Instead of helping to have a litter free environment, you are living with rats, cockroaches and snakes.
This diseased infested town is created by you, who don’t care a damn about this earth. Instead of uplifting and building, you are putting down and destroying your own future as well as the future of your children to come.
What a beautiful, fine place to raise your children in. It is so ‘hygienic’. Education begins at home, so the behaviour of the children reflect on the parents OR grandparents.
So my question to the parents is what example have you set? Do you just toss your litter out of the car? Do you never use a bin provided when you walk?
I have seen many throw their rubbish alongside a bin. Do you just sit anywhere and just leave your rubbish when you get up? Are you a proud South African? Are you proud of you country and your town?
It clearly isn’t showing with your behaviour. If you were proud, then you would ensure a clean environment. You would set a fine example to the younger ones.
Who would employ a ‘no care attitude’? You, alone, are making yourselves unemployable. Remember, your future employer could have just walked or driven passed you.
What you do in public becomes a public matter. People talk and take note of your behaviour. So don’t you dare cry if you pass matric and need a job and no one employs you. You will be part of the huge team of unemployed.
Actions are louder than words. So be proud of yourselves, show respect, and present yourselves well in public.
Stop being hooligans; you are only making an already hard life, harder for yourselves.
If you are proud of your heritage, then show it by presenting a better person. You have to take care of your own destiny. Don’t allow peer pressure to lead you down the path of failure and heartache.
Those are the people that don’t care for you, they are happy to bring you down with them. Rather lead the way and show them a better road, a road of positivity.
It won’t be easy to be one in a large group that is different. But persevere and eventually you will be respected.
