Well, well, well, if it isn’t sewerage flooding our property then it’s rain. My oh, my.
When is this municipality of ours going to do something drastic regarding fixing our town up? This is exactly what I have been on and on and on about – preventing us down town from flooding. You built those stupid paving structures up Ntabamhlophe Road, just to create jobs and waste the tax payer’s hard earned money.
You missed the whole plot of my nagging. You need to have gotten stuck in, during WINTER, to clear ALL the gutters and underneath the bridges, also unblock all the drains, BEFORE our rains started.
Cleaning SOME gutters around the central business district (CBD) area is a waste of energy if the staff are only piling it all onto the pavements.

Well, they will have to return or maybe not, perhaps it was planned, not to do that little extra to bag it, it has been washed down now with the rains. You need to seriously start right from the top and work yourselves down towards the CBD. I again invite you to please come for a walk with me, seeing as all the photos, with road names and house numbers, is not working, to see for yourself the sights we see and you obviously don’t see.

When is our local municipality going to start taking us seriously? Do they just not care about the town’s people? Well, my suggestion is to start caring because sooner rather than later, we are going to have to make serious adjustments, reclaim our town and start subcontracting jobs out to those who care and want to work. You may be happy with a town that has collapsed but I can assure you, the majority are not happy with the way they are treated.
They all want change and they all want to be proud to call Estcourt home.
What actions do we, as the tax payers, need to start taking to get results? We talk and talk, we have one-on-one meetings to try and solve problems. Various issues have been raised to make their jobs less tedious and with the least bit of effort to go and find the problem spots (they have photos and locations), and no one cares, they are giving us the middle finger. I am asking again, very nicely, do what you were voted in for, work for your town.
Clean it up! The roads, pavements, gutters, and your ‘grass’, ‘parks’ and surrounding areas needs to be cleaned up of all the litter and rubble. Your storm water drains need to be cleaned regularly.
Ensure free flow of water down the gutters into unblocked storm water drains. If everything is blocked, the water will find an alternative route and that is sheer logic, I am sure a grade one pupil can figure that one out. An alternative route causes havoc and we have properties flooding.
