To Jabu and her crew of over 500 (500 isn’t the true figure, we all know it’s double; if not triple). Have you taken a long, good look around at the condition of YOUR town?
The reason why I am referring to it as “your ” town is ONLY because you and your team have the means to get it sorted out with OUR rates and taxes that you do diligently take monthly.
I agree with all the articles being written lately. I just hope the Raciti family is going ahead with their legal adviser. I just hope that R9 000 damage caused by potholes to a vehicle will be claimed from you by withholding the rates and taxes until their debt is paid off.

I truly believe that if we, as a town, stand together and for every damage to vehicles or hospital visits we make because of all of your incompetence, holding back rates and taxes to pay for bills is the only answer.
Refuse collection is a joke. Have you NOT got a single vehicle to compensate for a broken down truck?

Oh yes, I forgot, they were all taken. So no Plan B, our one and only truck breaks down and doesn’t get repaired due to lack of funds in the coffers, and the refuse is left to rot and stink further and then the dogs rummage through it all, further making your job a nightmare because NO ONE picks up litter unless it is all neat and tidy in the bags.
This is not acceptable! This is posing a health risk. Health Inspector Sipho Zulu, where are you?
Non-functioning street lights throughout town, Victoria Street, Connor Street, Loskop road leaving town from the SAPS and many other roads in town and in our neighbouring homes like Forderville, etc.
Lighting is very important in this town. It poses a huge and dangerous problem without them. Potholes have taken over this town; we need lighting to see where they are at night.

Bushes, weeds and grass have also invaded Estcourt; you don’t have a clue who hides in these places. You don’t have a clue what gets hidden in there. We have many walkers and runners, so if you care for any human beings’ safety, you would consider making it a safe environment by cleaning it up.
On-going grass cutting, etc. ummm where? Supervise your staff, go out and inspect the day’s work. We all know how work is done, the slower, with no enthusiasm, the better because tomorrow is another day to come back and continue.
But tomorrow there is a million more other jobs waiting to be tackled. I am glad to see the long overdue Connor Street, outside St Matthews Church, has finally been tarred.
I am trusting that it was properly prepared and filled to prevent it from being pushed open by the heavies on our roads. Lovely to see progress, even though it has taken forever.
What is happening up in JENNINGS ROAD? Any relief for the residents up there? Having to contend with a dug up road is not pleasant. I hope that this work has been given to a QUALIFIED contractor, not a fly-by-night or someone that needs a financial favour.
LOSKOP ROAD is a suicide road. Daytime driving is bad enough but nights are horrendous. No lights and potholes that one either must drive through or try and play chicken with oncoming vehicles.

The road coming in and going out of Estcourt on either side of Alice Bridge, near Eskort, leaves motorists worried. Missing potholes and judging traffic is dangerous.
Winter is fast approaching and I am certain you know it’s FIRE season. If you do not make a plan with this town’s overgrown pavements and all your grass/bushy areas, the residents certainly WILL. Please ensure the FIRE ENGINE is in good working condition. They will be very busy.
Your pavement’s grass is now growing in all the gutters. I have noticed some places where there was an attempt at cutting the grass on the pavements; they just brushed over the gutters. DIG THE GRASS OUT OF THE GUTTERS!
They are supposed to be for water to run freely down. Dropping a number of staff off at working points, why don’t you scatter them around?
The bigger the group, the more they socialise and less work is getting done. Trucks in and out of the CBD are outrageous. ‘No truck’ zones are ignored; traffic cops need to seriously monitor this closely.
Red lines and traffic lights are also totally ignored. Are the BYLAWS now in full use? Please advise us.
