There are so many potholes, leaking water pipes and overgrown verges and park areas that need attention, yet the municipality can waste so much money on metal fencing that is not needed.
In a few months we will be seeing sections of this sell fencing removed by vandals who will sell it for scrap.
Why do we need two ‘Correctional Service’ establishments in Estcourt? The huge amount of money wasted on erecting all this fencing around the municipal offices and library could have been put to better use to improve the image of our once beautiful town. If the municipality has no money for repairing broken pipes, or for fuel to operate their tractors to cut all the grass on verges and parks, and by doing so keep Estcourt neat and tidy, where did they find the money to pay for all this fencing?This ‘trench’ in Ntabamhlophe Road is deep and full of water. It has also been left like this for some time. People are worried that a young child could fall into it and drown. Why are all these hazards been left unattended to for so long? There is a lack of supervision in the maintenance department.
Teale Road joined with Heritage Road and had a pavement with street lighting. Then someone in the municipality decided to place four lorry loads of earth across Teale Road, the claim is that it was not a road. We now have a glorified dumping ground.This ‘hole’ on the corner of Jannie de Waal and Ntabamhlophe roads was created two years ago. It has no proper protection barrier around it. If a child should fall into this, they will cause themselves a serious injury.
