It is always a pleasure to be able to visit a town when the populace, who would normally be thronging the streets, seem to have been taken by aliens.
No dodging errant vehicles seemingly wanting to make contact with one`s own vehicle.

No avoiding stupid and dull headed jaywalkers who seem hell bent on committing suicide under the wheels of one`s vehicle or earnestly going for some kind of injury, to afford them the chance of claiming from one’s third party vehicle insurance policy.
Therefore, aside from not having to negotiate the obstacles course made up of people and vehicles, the streets appear beautifully clean.
Almost totally devoid of the accumulation of litter deposited on the sidewalks and in the street gutters by lazy and non-caring citizens.
Remember the streets cannot be absolutely clean, as humans live here!
I constantly wonder how these town litterbugs would react if the area where they lived was deliberately littered by passersby?
I would hope they would be suitably distressed by this action, and vociferously object.
This is of course in the ideal world, but perhaps they do live in unsanitary and rubbish strewn condition and are just too idle to clean up after themselves and their neighbours.
Saying they live in pigsty conditions is no longer politically correct, as apparently they are actually very clean animals.
We humans just keep them in these foul conditions.
Why people litter I do not know.
As far as I am aware living in a rubbish strewn environment is not related to economics, as the working class can also be very clean and tidy.
However, oft or not the poorer economic areas always look terrible.
Surely one’s self pride will not permit one to live and work in one’s own filth and rubbish, so why do it?
Just as nobody is born a racist, I believe nobody is born to be a dirty litterbug – you are taught these things.

A favourite adage from a while back stated that in a pristine area one was to leave nothing but one’s footprints.
These areas do after all generate unpleasant smells and encourage the arrival and proliferation of rats and other vermin.
We all know that vermin brings and spreads disease, because before you know it, there could be an outbreak of some vile contagious disease.
How about a clean up of one`s living environment and make us all very proud and keep us all healthy.
