Scottish reader remembers Simon Mchunu

I remember Simon often with his crewmate, Absolon, passing through Ladysmith, either going to/from Pietermaritzburg or Durban hospitals day or night with patients

Sir
How nice it was to read in the comfort of my home on a frosty winter evening in northern Scotland that a former ambulance colleague of mine, Simon Mchunu, is retiring after 32 years service.

So nice to see you, Simon. I was at the Ladysmith ambulance base from 1986-1996 and I remember Simon often with his crewmate, Absolon, passing through Ladysmith, either going to/from Pietermaritzburg or Durban hospitals day or night with patients. Over his long career, he must have done the journey hundreds and hundreds of times. I still remember Simon’s quiet, peaceful way with patients.

Very happy memories too of other caring staff from Dundee including Naresh, Jack, Logan, Philip and others whose faces I remember but names I cannot recall! I wish Simon a happy, healthy retirement.
