As people, we need to understand our own self worth and live up to our own standards; no one wants to be a side chick/side dude forever.
Being a side chick must be so hard – imagine not being able to flaunt your ‘bae’ to your friends and family. The thought of sticking to the well-known inviolable side chick pledge must be burdensome.
What is the side chick pledge you may ask? Well, the side chick has to agree to respecting the hours of calling, to never speak with the ‘main chick’, while ensuring availability is crucial. Lastly, you must know your place and forever remain a secret affair.
The side chick pledge may seem easy to others but in most cases, side chicks forget the pledge and want to become known – and that’s when things take a turn for the worst.
The first thing one needs to establish is the difference between the side chick and the main chick levels in a relationship. What kind of a woman qualifies to be called a main chick by her partner? It’s a tricky one, especially because in today’s world, you are lucky if you are even in any relationship. I mean, one minute you could be with your man thinking, ‘oh, he is the best’ and the next minute he’s posting somebody else’s pic on his Facebook page.
Bam – you get the inevitable block on Facebook and WhatsApp. Then you have to pick up the pieces yourself and move on without even getting any closure. You just have to pack your feelings and go, never to return again.
The difference between the two levels is an intimate relationship. The main chick usually has the ‘IT’ factor, whatever ‘IT’ means to you. This woman acts like your wife and does all the wifely duties, like washing your laundry, and gets invited to family gatherings. She plans for the future and is very supportive of everything her man does.
The side chick doesn’t have the ‘IT’ factor and likes to trick her partner into thinking she is ‘IT’. She is told from the very beginning there is a woman in her lover’s life, but because her relationship standards are low, she enters the relationship thinking the man will leave his wife/main chick for her.
The side chick is all about having fun and going out; all she cares about is the fancy gifts and luxury trips – she doesn’t even ask you about your day at work. As long as you keep sponsoring her she’s okay.
Side chicks may enter a relationship assuming they will get promoted out of the zone in due time, forgetting that men in general, want someone who listens to them and fulfills their heart’s desires (whatever those may be) and who won’t milk them for the money.
As people, we need to understand our own self worth and live up to our own standards; no one wants to be a side chick/side dude forever. We need to understand the meaning of ‘side’ in this context, which simply means secondary, substitute, supplementary.
There is no tower climbing from side chick to main chick. Know your worth, ladies, and always remember that if he is cheating with you, he will never trust you. A thief never trusts another thief.
