Sir – We are glad to see that the Municipality is putting some money where their political mouths were in the run up to the election.
A grader has been bought to fix the roads. The state of the roads has been well documented. We hope that the grader is used properly to ensure all residents get equal treatment. The power outage in Sibongile, caused by criminal arsonists, was swiftly repaired. This is all good news.
All these things tell me the new Council is making the right noises. Commitments have been made to formally charge those suspected of corruption within the municipality. There are still some outstanding issues to be looked at.
The Oval sports ground is in a shabby state. It does not do anything to advertise Dundee as a central location for regional sports events. The old municipal swimming pool and adjacent caravan park are also very poor adverts for Dundee. Why can’t these properties be developed?
There is nothing for the kids to do here especially during the holidays and these properties would be the ideal for a recreational centre. Let’s hope this happens. Dundee is in such a poor state and really needs some TLC
Proud Dundonian
