Editor – The graveyard is the final resting place for the departed soul. Our final farewell ends with the words “rest in peace”.

Such a resting place needs to be maintained in a neat and tidy condition by cutting overgrown grass and trimming edges, etc.  Families generally visit graves of the departed to offer prayers and to remember them.

It is most disappointing to see how the two graveyards – Forderville and Keate Street – are neglected. An appeal is made to the ‘powers that be’ to give urgent and prompt attention to this further neglected aspect of your call of duty.

In the interim, the funeral undertakers, religious groups, cultural societies, business houses and other interested persons should meet to plot a way forward, as our municipality is dysfunctional and will again fail in this important responsibility.
