Grateful for response in placing speed-reducing humps

Road accidents don't just happen; they are caused by irresponsible and reckless drivers

Editor –

Motorists and pedestrians who utilise the Ntabamhlophe road through the signal of a robot when green, wish to thank Estcourt Transportation Board chairperson Mr Bongani Mabaso and the board members.

We appreciate you approving and erecting effective speed-reducing humps on approaching the robots, forcing motorists (especially taxi drivers) to slow down.

Some taxi drivers don’t even stop at a clearly visible red robot. In the process of disobeying road traffic signs, they put the lives of innocent people in danger, mostly people from Longhomes going across to either Wembezi police station, the library or schools.

Road accidents don’t just happen; they are caused by irresponsible and reckless drivers.

We would like to request some speed humps at the same set of robots for oncoming traffic towards Ntabamhlophe before nearing town. Please continue listening to our pleas.
