Tribute to Mrs Babulal, a loving and caring woman

As a pioneering member of the Babulal family in Estcourt, she was a role model and a champion of social and religious values

Editor –

Our community sadly lost Mrs Rukmin Babulal – a loving mother, caring grandmother, mother-in-law, aunt and friend, who passed away peacefully in Durban on March 25, 2020. She was a well-known and loved member of the community who endeared herself to everyone she met.

Our mother was a gentle soul with an infectious personality and wonderful sense of humour. As a pioneering member of the Babulal family in Estcourt, she was a role model and a champion of social and religious values.
She always expressed unwavering compassion and concern for the welfare of others, despite her own challenges.
Faced with many illnesses, she displayed faith, courage and strength, always smiling and optimistic.
Our mother will be sorely missed at all religious functions and social events within the community.

She was always willing to lend a helping hand and was an important guide to younger generations in passing on invaluable teachings.
The happiness of others was her own happiness. She rejoiced in the successes of her family and celebrated every milestone with equal love and enthusiasm.

“Doing good, being good and seeing good in others” was the mantra she lived by and is the legacy she leaves behind for her family to carry forward.

Mum, we are heartbroken by your loss, but are eternally grateful for the wonderful memories etched in our hearts.
Although you may not be here physically to give us comfort and strength, we know you still continue to share in our joys and will always be a guiding light in our lives. We will continue to honour you and uphold the fundamental values you have taught us.

With love in our hearts, we know you will continue to walk with us forever.

Submitted on behalf of the Babulal, Bramannan and Bhugwandeen families
