Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality, under the mayorship of Councillor Jabulile Mbele, strongly condemns the gender-based violence (GBV) that continues to plague this country, even during the Covid-19 pandemic.
This stance comes in the wake of uncivilized acts perpetrated within the borders of the local municipality recently.

Two women have died in what is presumed to be incidents of GBV.
A woman from Ward 16 in Ntabamhlophe was discovered by her children lying in her bedroom, while the second victim is a woman from Esigodlweni in Ward 18, whose car was set alight and it is believed she was inside the car at the time.
Inkosi Langalibalele councillors are in unison in denouncing these inhumane practices, and continue to urge men to protect women and children in and around the parameters of the municipality.
The most painful thing about these shocking and senseless killings is that they took place during the month that is commonly known as Men’s Month.
Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality sends its deepest condolences to the bereaved families and urges the South African Police Service (SAPS) to work 24/7 to make sure that the perpetrators are apprehended and finally face the full might of the law.
