Kilian Academy – Stellar performance by Justin Gough

FRIDAY evening saw Justin Gough being advanced to blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, after two years of training and an hour of demonstrating technique.

Justin, a student in the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) received his blue belt from Jurgen Putter, black belt and head coach of Rio Grappling South Africa.

“It was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life and can hardly remember what transpired during that hour,” stated Gough. “All I can remember was waking up bruised and sore on Saturday morning,” he added. Gough also states that BJJ is an adventure and lifestyle you commit to, one that saw him change his lifestyle, approaching life healthier and more disciplined.

Gough is the third student to receive his blue belt at the academy in the past three years. Abrie Kilian, head coach at Kilian Academy, stated that he is satisfied with the performance of Gough and that his performance was on par with what is expected from a student on his level.
