A small group of locals put their confidence and accuracy to the test, at the Vodacom Winter Festival Goal-Kicking Competition on Saturday morning.

This year, the goal was a far smaller target.

Despite this challenge, Avikaar Sevesanker bested all competitors to claim the title of 2016 Goal-Kicking champion, a voucher from Trevor Smith Sports and a cash amount.

The second- and third-placed kickers also received prizes for their efforts.

Once the competition had concluded, Winter Festival committee members took their shots at goal, with the successful strikers earning the right to donate their ball to a child, school or charity.
