Anglers head for Jozini Dam for Tiger Fish Bonanza

Avid locals from Vryheid Ski Boat Club and Vryheid Social Boat Angling Forum travelled to Jozini Dam over the weekend for the Annual Tiger Fish Bonanza and a perfect opportunity to immerse themselves in a fun-filled fishing experience, surrounded by nature and the peace that comes along with it.
Despite some car trouble along the way, Philip Bantjes, Kokos Coetzer and Elaine Bannister proved that you can’t keep a Vryheid fisherman down, and started their Heritage Day/Braai Day celebration early by setting up their braai alongside the road while waiting for the necessary spares to arrive.
Strong winds and inclement weather prevented many of the boats from going out on Saturday, so not many Tiger Fish were caught.
“…But that did not stop us from having a great time,” stated Philip Bantjes.
