Golfers take to the greens for school fundraiser

The purpose of the golf day, according to Llewellyn Grey, principal of Hutten Park Primary School, is to enlist the help of the community, parents, and the club in raising funds for the school.

Golfers braved the sweltering heat of an early autumn heat wave to support the Hutten Park Golf Day on Saturday, March 9.

The match was played in a format known as “two-ball better-ball,” in which two-golfer teams compete against one another.

Principal Grey thanked all the sponsors who were involved to make the day successful, particularly the main sponsor, UDT Trucks, the Newcastle golf club, the golfing community and for everyone who continually supports Hutten Park Primary.

Results were as follows:

  1. Leon Rothman/Renier Terblanche (46 Points)
  2. Steyn Vermaas/Gerhard Lombaard (45 Points onco)
  3. Brandt vd Berg/Ben Chowles                         (45 Points onco)
  4. Umesh Karsan/Ronel Singh                         (45 Points onco)
  5. Walter Malevu/Stella v Zyl             (45 Points onco)
