Spartans FC in thrilling 5-2 RBCA league victory

Zim Stars did manage a late consolation goal but Spartans FC ultimately ran out 5-2 winners.

The RBCA Chartered Accountant Super League continued this past Sunday with spectators treated to four exciting games.

Fairleigh United took on Hellenic in a high-octane match in which both teams started like houses on fire.

It was Fairleigh that took the lead but Hellenic did manage to level the score.

In the second half, Hellenic took the lead but Fairleigh continued to press and walked away 3-2 winners.

In the second game, 11 Hammers and Newcastle Legends locked horns, and the game went into the break goalless.

In the second half, the Hammers scored after the Legends failed to clear their lines.

Legends equalized shortly afterward but Hammers hung on to walk away 2-1 winners.

Next up, The City of Refuge took on Munawarah who are still unbeaten.

However, it was COR who took the lead. This stunned Munawarah into action and they continued to pile on the pressure.

The game went into halftime tied at two goals apiece.

In the second half, the teams went at each other toe-to-toe which saw the score tied at 4 each.

With 10 minutes to go, Munawarah found another gear to score three more goals and ran out 7-4 winners.

Spartans and Zim Stars went head-to-head in the next match with the former grabbing an early lead. But a Zim Stars penalty made it 1 all.

Just before halftime, the Spartans again took the lead to make it 2-1.

In the second half, the Spartans were more ruthless and scored three goals to lead 5-1.

The Zim Stars failed to convert their second penalty and missed some glorious opportunities.

Zim Stars did manage a late consolation goal as Spartan ran out 5-2 winners.
