Serious business followed by bowling fun
Great 'team building' at Klipbank over the weekend

Sanlam started the weekend off with a bang by having their annual get-together at the club.
After the serious business in the morning, they participated in really fun bowls co-ordinated by Jean Crane before their spit-braai lunch. It was a new experience for many of their staff and it was a pleasure to see how much they enjoyed themselves – a real ‘team building’ experience. It is a pleasure to see Jean up and about again, and we welcome her back to club activities.
Saturday afternoon Nomads turned into a sponsored tabs-in, with Kees Hillenaar of Midlands Motors being the sponsor. Thank you, Kees, for supporting those who were brave enough to go out in the windy conditions. The winners were Magriet Coetzee, Lorraine Kirsten and Maureen Streatfield, with runners-up Bennie Malan, Gavin Moore and Jill Holding. Well done to you!
Our apologies for the mix-up of dates last week, instead of the Bergville tournament. This was a real BLAST – no joking, the wind was horrific but didn’t stop everyone from enjoying themselves. The tournament was won by Louis Nel and his team from Harrismith, with the runners-up being Peter Scott and his team from Bergville.
Hyper Packaging will be the sponsors on Tuesday 24th, when there will be Open Trips with fantastic prizes as usual! This being a public holiday, there is no excuse for you not to support the tournament. So do call Rodney Perrin on 083-231-3712 and get your entry in pronto.
You simply have to make sure you get to the bar to see the fabulous windbreakers that are now available to complete our club image. You will look so smart when you go out to play, appearing in your club colours and wearing your new windbreaker. Don’t take our word for it – come and see for yourself.
Joe Coetzee is watching out for the subs which are now due, so do make the effort to get your subs to him ASAP. It is possible to make alternative arrangements where necessary, so don’t be slow – have a chat with Joe if necessary.
The Business League is due to start again soon, so don’t hesitate or you may be too late get your entry in before you forget.
If your invitation has not reached you, do give Rodney a ring so he can make sure you are on the list.
