Max attack from the Tonykart boys
After just a short break of three weeks, National Kart Racing returns to the Idube track in Kwa-Zulu Natal, this time in the form of the SA Rotax Challenge. The green TonyKart team won seven out of nine heats in the ROK national.

“We had a very good result in the ROK National with two overall class wins in the Mini Rok and Junior Rok, and a second and third in the Senior Rok,” said Jan Habig, importer of the TonyKart brand.
In the second round of the SA Max Challenge, Eugene Denyssen put in an excellent performance in the Senior Max class in his new TonyKart, and took overall honours for the day.
With the third round of the Rotax series coinciding with the long weekend, a good entry is expected from around the country. “More importantly though, is that we have a fairly strong contingent of Natal boys who normally race in the ROK series who will go out and enjoy some racing,” he added.
The Maxterino class have the Capetonians Dario Busi and Michele Lupini, while Jarrod Odendal who does not normally contest the Max series, and caused a major upset by winning all three heats last month, will add spice to the class.
Heading up the line-up for the Tonykart stable in the Junior Max class will be Keagan Masters who is currently in third spot in the championship following a superb outing in the last national in Port Elizabeth where he scored maximum points.
Supporting Masters in the Junior Max category, will be Luke Hill and Jason Smith.
The biggest TonyKart challenge of the day will certainly come in the form of the Senior Max class, where championship leader,
Eugene Denyssen will have his job cut out to stay ahead in the championship. Wesley Vosloo and Ricky Hill are two talented drivers who are very quick at the Idube track.
Local KZN boys will come out to play, and Estcourt’s World Champion Mitchell Licen, Robert Whiting and Benjamin Habig all have the ability to give TonyKart another 1 , 2, 3 finish in the class.
Seven times World Karting Champion, Christiano Morgado is likely to dominate the DD2 class behind the wheel of the TonyKart, but will have another world champion in the form of Luca Canderle to contend with, as well as tough competition from Eugene Brits and Ryan Frost.
