U15 soccer showdown
The aim is to create a safe environment for the sports teams to play in as well as promote sport and close relationships between the children.
Eleven teams are competing in the Wembezi Under 15 Boys Soccer Tournament, which will be played over the weekends.
On Saturday and Sunday the games were played at the Wembezi Stadium. This week teams will play on Saturday, October 26 starting at 8am at the Thembalihle and Cornfields sports fields. Umtshezi Municipality hosts the tournament and the aim is to create a safe environment for the sports teams to play in as well as promote sport and close relationships between the children.
The teams are divided into two streams and they will play in a round robin system.
The top two teams from each stream will proceed to the semi-finals, whilst the losing teams in the semi-finals will contest for third place. Trophies, medals and cash prizes are up for grabs.
