Good results in Ladysmith Cycle Challenge
The KZN Road Champs will be hosted here in Ladysmith again in 2014 on January 18 and 19
The annual Ladysmith Cycle Challenge, which took place on Sunday, September 22, was a great success. Thanks to our sponsors, all the cyclists who took part, and a very special thanks to all the RTI officers and municipal traffic officers for their tremendous support and effort. The weather was a bit cool on the day, with a full 3 ºC on top of De Beers Pass and some mist for the 100km riders.
Results for club members and locals:
80km:
Corné Stevens – second place (vet men 50+).
Hesmarie Bester – third place (ladies).
Rochelle van Eck – first place (junior girls).
Kyle Cox – second place (under 16 boys).
40km:
Hannes Lourens – second place (U/14 boys).
Herman Lourens – third place (U/14 boys).
18km:
Iloni Minnaar – first place (U/10 girls).
Well done to all of you on your great results! As you all heard on the day, the announcement made by the road commissioner for KZN Cycling was that the KZN Road Champs will be hosted here in Ladysmith again in 2014 on January 18 and 19. The SA Champs will be two weeks later in Durban.
