Newcastle Oval Track racing set for year
The racing year accelerates off for Newcastle Oval Track on January 31.
The lights flicker ‘three… two… one’; each pause punctuated by the deep purr of an engine, and then the flag drops.
The racers speed around the raceway in clouds of dust and smoke.
Lines are taken through corners and mistakes are made as racers spin off or crash out.
This is the action of the oval track.
From the agile daring young stars of the rookie divisions to the mad roar of the V8s, the action leaves both racers and fans with their adrenaline pumping.

February 28, March 28, April 25, May 30, June 27, July 25, August 29, September 28, October 31 and the final race will be on November 28 with the prize giving and year-end function scheduled for December 12.
