Large field celebrates Ram’s 80th birthday

Today, Wednesday, September 16 will be a BBBS comp and then on Saturday, September 19 will be the Moth Lord Allenby Shellhole golf day

Last Saturday almost 50 golfers celebrated Ram Ramwater’s 80th birthday by playing in his special golf day to celebrate this auspicious occasion.

The format was a Four Ball Alliance with two scores to count.  The large field required a shotgun start!

Ram’s family, friends and many visitors from other clubs were welcomed.

Winners with a score of 113 points was the birthday man himself with Roy Magan, Richard Naidoo and David Diedrick.

Second with 104 points were Kamy Baboolal, Deejay Ramdhav, Noel Ramdhin and Sagi Pillay on a count out from third placed Ruan van den Berg, Berthus de Klerk, Jacques Bezuidenhout and Warren Smith.

Of note is the fact that visitor Berthus has played all 488 courses in this country – a feat that took him 10 years to achieve.

Most golf on 93 points went to Bijay Sookhinunthen, Naveen Rajcoomar, Wilson Sibiya and Bonnie Maseko.

A big thank you must go to Ram and his family and friends for all the prizes and hard work required to make the day the success it was.

The Wednesday comp was won by Hansie Moolman and Frank Ashe and the nine hole Friday comp by, guess who? – none other than that man Ram again with a score of 19 points.

Today, Wednesday, September 16 will be a BBBS comp and then on Saturday, September 19 will be the Moth Lord Allenby Shellhole golf day in the format of a Four Ball Alliance.
