Anglers reel in the awards

Iscor Angling Club recently held its annual prize giving at Iscor Club for the 2015/16 period.

The club took this opportunity to acknowledge anglers for their hard work throughout the season.

Vice-chairman, Sean McArthur said the club took first place in the annual Iscor Intercentrum, which was held at the Vaal Dam – an incredible achievement worthy of praise.

“The fishing was always going to be tough, as the dam levels keep on dropping, but this did not stop the anglers from doing what they know best, and that is to fish,” he explained.

The winners were as follows:

– Juanre van Niekerk was the junior winner.

– Bettie Bothma was the winner in the women’s division.

– Albert van Niekerk was the senior winner, and was crowned Club Champion for 2015/16.

– Piet Bothma was selected to represent the South African Freshwater Bank Angling Federation (SAFBAF) in theMasters division.

Mr McArthur congratulated all the anglers who received trophies and certificates.

“Well done and keep up the hard work,” he concluded.
