Sithembile United of Glencoe has cried foul after they were disqualified from replaying the final of their Vodacom knock-out tournament.
The original final, played last week at the Oval, against Junior Aces of Msinga had to be abandoned after the flood lights at the Oval failed.
Thabani Phakathi, of Sithembile United, said they were only told that they had been disqualified after he had called the SAFA office in Msinga to ask what time the replay would kick-off over the weekend.
“We were shocked when we were told by SAFA that we were out.

“We had laid a complaint to SAFA over non-registered players playing for the Msinga team but never had any feedback,” he said.
A Mr Xaba, who is SAFA chairperson in the area, said while he is yet to receive an official report from SAFA, there had been a complaint that Sithembile United had allegedly fielded non-registered players.
However, Mr Phakathi denies any knowledge of this and that his team had received an official protest report from the officials at the tournament.
The original tournament attracted football teams from Nquthu, Dundee, Glencoe, Msinga and Greytown.
While the soccer was of a high-performance and the winners would have been promoted to the Castle Regional League, the final had to be called off when the lights failed.
The score between Sithembile United and Junior Aces was 1-1 when the lights went out.
SAFA said they had booked the Oval with the municipality who should have seen to the power being available. A similar black-out dampened at the Sibongile Stadium recently when car headlights had to be switched on to complete a game.
Endumeni Municipality was contacted for comment but none had been received by Monday afternoon.
