Roaring engines galore at regionals

Despite fierce competition, comradeship was the name of the game.

NEWCASTLE – High speed action was the order of the day, as a staggering 85 racers competed in the first leg of the Midas Northern Regional Championships on Saturday.

Competitors from Rustenburg, Randfontein, Loskop, Volksrust gathered at the Oval Track to compete alongside Newcastle racers in the event, which was a qualifier for the Nationals later this year.

Stock cars, 1660s, two-litres, hotrods, heavy metal motors, V8-flexi motors, V8-Lexus motors, V8 sprint class and two quad bike classes ensured spectators were able to fuel their need for high speed sports.

Despite fierce competition, comradeship was the name of the game.
