Darts association member to represent the province

During the Durban round, the locals played a total of 14 games, of which they won seven, lost four and drew two

Seven members of Umtshezi Darts Association have been playing in the Natal League since March.

Starting in Pietermaritzburg, the members played the first round before heading off to Dundee for the second round and the final round was held in Durban recently.

During the Durban round, the locals played a total of 14 games, of which they won seven, lost four and drew two. Umtshezi Darts Association was placed fifth in KwaZulu-Natal. The team consisted of Hemraj Jhekarran, Rajen Goodoon, Alan Anandparsadh, Lal Jhekarran, Sunjeeth Sewsunker, Viren Mungru and Vikesh Ramdhani.

Hemraj scored the highest individual result. He played a total of 78 games during the league; he won 60 and scored six 180s. This resulted in him being placed third in the Natal League.

In addition, Hemraj has been chosen to be part of the Natal side that will play in Bloemfontein at the South African Championships.

“It is a great feeling,” said Hemraj. “For the past five years I have been placed in the top ten but was not part of the playing side. It took a long time but now I am in the team,” he added.
