Time Trials proud of Comrades runners
Please note that Time Trials takes place every Wednesday at 5pm in front of Dundee Junior School on Excelsior Lane.

June 1
Lani van der Mescht cracked her personal best time in the 2km ladies walk/jog event, in a time of 17m12s.
Jayrushka Massalia won the 3km ladies run event in another consistent time of 16m14s followed by Thola Ntombela in a time of 19m28s. The 4km mens running event saw Ayanda Buthelezi winning in the fast time of 13m50s, followed by another consistent athlete, Clement Nelson, in a time of 19m47s.
June 8
2km Walk Ladies: Vasanthee Naicker finished first in a time of 16m39s followed by Sandy Thakur – 20m15s.
3km Walk Ladies: Lani van der Mescht finished first in a time of 29m30s followed by Nadia Scholtz – 36m10s.
3km Walk Mens: Pieter Bester came in with a time of 29m30s.
3km Run Ladies: Thobeka Mbatha set a personal best as she finished the event in a time of 15m12s. Jayrushka Massallia also set a new personal best as finished second in a time of 15m47s. Joyce Shabalala finished third in a time of 22m20s.
4km Run Mens: Ayanda Buthelezi finished the event first in a time 13m42s, followed by Thokozani Phungula – 13m53s and Joel Khumalo – 14m30s. Bongani Sabelo finished fourth – 14m37s, with Sanele Nxumalo in fifth – 16m38s and Zwelihle Duma in seventh – 19m02s.
Vasanthee won the 2km ladies walk event in an excellent time. Sandy returns to time trials after a long absence – not bad for her first walk back. Lani proved too strong in the 3km ladies walk event followed by Nadia.
Thobeka smashed her personal best to win the 3km ladies run event followed by Jayrushka, who also ran an incredible race to beat her personal best time.
Ayanda won the 4km mens race in another cracking time and has made this event his own. Every time trialist that took part in the Comrades Marathon finished the race in a fantastic time. Congratulations to you all.
