A rather small field contested the Lalparsad Inc. Monthly Mug in conditions suited for a cup of soup in front of the fire place.

Dave Diedrick managed the conditions by winning the mug on a score of nett 71, a score not seen often. In second place on nett 73 was Rajen Goodoon followed by uncle Ram Ramwater on nett 75.

For an 80-year-old plus to stick it out in the cold when much younger players opted to withdraw, must be mentioned. The Gerry’s Motors closest to the pin went to Lional Laatz. Closest on number three was Rajen and the jackpot was shared by four players and kindly donated to the club, as well as the two club money.

Vaughn Ric-Hanson beat Arnold in the matchplay with all matches to be played as soon as possible. The club and matchplay champions will be playing in the Champions of Champions at Kloof Country Club.

This Saturday will be a four ball alliance, scramble drive and a sit down dinner for Ian Freeman’s farewell.
