NEWCASTLE – The new kid on the swimming block, Aqua Adrenaline hosted its awards ceremony on September 17.

Following a very successful 2015/2016 season, proud coach, Grace Filipe honoured swimmers for their efforts, with trophies and certificates.

The top awards went to:

Minette Janse van Vuuren was announced as the Highest Achiever, while the swimmer with the most training hours put in was Ruan Janse van Vuuren.

Sheryl-Anne Grobler received accolades as the Highest Achiever: Open Water.

Aqua Adrenaline congratulated each swimmer for their efforts and achievements in the pool, noting the hard work and long hours of training put into competitive swimming, to achieve success.

“Without family support, the swimmers would not be able to participate and achieve – thank you to all the committed parents and grandparents for their contributions,” said club management at the function.

Paul Filipe was thanked for his contributions to the club and its swimmers, and homage was paid to Grace Filipe for the hours she dedicated to honing swimming talent.

“Your enthusiasm and love for the swimmers is an inspiration.”

The function was concluded with a scrumptious supper and socialising.
