It was then a relatively easy run chase to the win.
President of the Newcastle and Districts Cricket Association, Johan Ferreira confirmed the season would resume in January.
Paradise and Lennoxton contest the Plate final on January 11.
The Northern Natal League also resumes in January, with the opening encounter set as Newcastle versus Ladysmith for the 15th.
Newcastle hopes to retain its unbeaten streak at the Arbor Park grounds.
