The Gladiators batted first and were all dismissed for 174 in the 47th over with Connor High (44) and Andrew Vorster (38) top scoring.

Jacques Sander (9-0-33-4) and Ruan Senekal (10-0-26-3) were the top wicket takers for Wicket Wasps. The Wicket Wasps batsmen made easy work of reaching the target, doing it in just 22 overs, with openers Juan Booyens (52) and Triztian Nel (43) top scoring.

Connor High (7-0-39-1) and Thomas Bezuidenhout (4-0-25-1) were responsible for 2 of the 3 wickets that the Gladiators bowlers managed to dismiss. Wicket Wasps won by 7 wickets.

This coming weekend will see Afrimat Gladiators play Mr X on Saturday afternoon at Cecil Emmett Park in a Kingsmead Mynahs 30 over match. Sunday’s 2 Kennedy Cup 50 overs matches will be between Dumbe and Wicket Wasps in Dumbe, as well as King Superstars and Bhekuzulu at Cecil Emmett Park.
