KILBARCHAN – It is that time of the year again when Newcastillians will break away from mundane routines and embrace the annual Vesco Winter Festival, set to start on April 26.

In the build-up to the four-day event, the annual Winter Festival Golf Day took place at Kilbarchan Golf Course on Saturday.

Taking to the greens in ideal weather, the purpose of the event was to create awareness about the upcoming festival, and to raise funds to supplement the income of the Vesco Winter Festival, which will be distributed among local charities.

Golfers enjoyed the social aspect of the day’s game as they teed off for a common cause.

Sias Weyers and Lukas Meyer took the win of day, with Robbie Niemann and James Bonthuyzen in second place. Sakkie and Eddie van der Merwe clinched third place, with Nicol van Wyk and Joe Fillipe following in fourth place.
