Academy will show you just how good you are

When you read this column, the De Franca Spar Business League will have come to an end (weather permitting).

The final results will be printed next week.

A huge thanks must go to De Franca Spar for their continued sponsorship, as this league would not be possible without the continued support of our business community who support Klipbank twice a year for seven weeks at a time and seem to have a very merry time.

This past weekend saw the Midlands Fours being played in Bergville.

The men’s section had seven entries, with the eventual winners being Harrismith and The Nest as runners-up.

Sadly, there were only three entries for the ladies’ section – two teams from Klipbank and one team from Harrismith. Klipbank came out on top, being placed first and second.

The winning team comprised Magriet Coetzee, Barbara Elworthy,

Veronica Malan and Fran Baleri – well done, ladies!

Runners-up were Barbara Baleri, Liefie Oosthuizen, Shenaaz Singh and Des Maartens – hard luck, ladies, and better luck for the play-offs.

Fran Baleri was selected to play for the under 30s and this week is in Bloemfontein playing in the Provincials Tournament.

If the team Fran is playing with plays as well as Fran has been playing these past few months, they could come home with a medal. Good luck, Fran!

The other bowler from Klipbank is Jaco Fick, who is playing in the under 19s, so good luck to everyone.

The Academy is being held at Klipbank this Saturday. This is a great way to spend your Saturday morning, so please come along and do some disciplines and discover that you are not as good as you think you are! It really is great fun.
